Xiaomi Launches HyperOS in India
Xiaomi has introduced HyperOS, its new interface for smartphones and tablets in India. This operating system will replace MIUI on eligible devices and will come pre-installed on all future Xiaomi devices, starting with the Xiaomi 14 scheduled for launch on March 7.
Improved Performance and Storage Optimization
HyperOS promises enhanced performance, optimized storage usage, improved personalization options, and more. Xiaomi claims that it will reduce the average response delay for scheduling critical tasks by 14% and decrease task switching delay by 16%. Additionally, users can anticipate a 17% reduction in message delivery delay.
In terms of storage, HyperOS is significantly more efficient than MIUI 14. While MIUI 14 required 12.53GB of storage, HyperOS will only occupy 9.14GB. Moreover, the storage occupancy for over-the-air updates has been reduced by 79%.
Enhanced Personalization Features
The HyperOS update brings a range of new personalization options for lock screens and home screens, allowing users to tailor their device experience according to their preferences. The control center has also undergone a redesign to facilitate easier device control, including the addition of a new media player widget in the notification screen.
Moreover, HyperOS introduces a new system font called MiSansGlobal, which supports over 600 languages, boasts over 1 lakh glyphs, and accommodates 20 writing systems. The floating window feature has also been revamped to enable users to view multiple applications simultaneously, enhancing multitasking capabilities.
Eligible Devices and Rollout Schedule
Xiaomi has provided a list of eligible devices for the HyperOS update, and the rollout has already commenced in India. Some devices have already begun receiving the update, with more expected to follow according to the scheduled rollout plan.
