CoWIN Introduces Correction Feature for Vaccination Certificates
The government has rolled out a new update on the CoWIN platform, allowing users to rectify any inadvertent errors in their vaccination certificate. This feature enables individuals to correct errors in their name, year of birth, and gender directly through the CoWIN website.
Correcting Errors on CoWIN Certificates
Announcing the update, the official handle of the Aarogya Setu app confirmed the new feature, stating that users can now rectify inaccuracies in their vaccination certificates. This enhancement aims to ensure the accuracy of crucial information printed on the certificates, which are often required for travel and access to various premises.
Enhancements in Vaccination Status Display
In addition to the correction feature, the government has also introduced enhancements in the display of vaccination status on the Aarogya Setu app. Individuals who have received a single dose of the vaccine will now see a single blue border along with the Aarogya Setu logo and a single tick on their home screen.
For those who have completed their vaccination course with two doses, a ‘Blue Shield’ with double ticks will appear on the app’s home screen after a 14-day period following the administration of the second dose. This double tick indicates full vaccination status and appears upon verification of vaccination records from the CoWIN portal.
Updating Vaccination Status
To update their vaccination status on the Aarogya Setu app, individuals can use the mobile number registered with CoWIN during the vaccination process. This self-assessment feature allows users to voluntarily update their vaccination status, providing them with a convenient way to reflect their immunization status accurately.
