Color Stand Hair Salon, a unique concept developed by FATHOM, specializes in hair coloring services, particularly focusing on gray hair dye and hairline retouching. Recognizing the growing demand for affordable and efficient hair coloring solutions, the salon prioritizes quality, affordability, and speed in its service offerings. To achieve these objectives, FATHOM sought to mechanize the salon’s design, creating a systematic approach to enhance the customer experience.
Inspired by Utility and Individuality
The design concept draws inspiration from the functionality of a gas station, aiming to streamline operations and optimize space utilization. Embracing simplicity and efficiency, FATHOM envisioned a salon that could seamlessly integrate into any location while retaining its unique identity. The color stand, reminiscent of a gas station pump, serves as the focal point of the salon, combining all essential functions into a single device.
Modular Design for Flexibility
Three color stand fixtures are strategically positioned within the salon space, each accompanied by a cantilevered oval mirror resembling a traffic light. Symmetrically arranged salon chairs complement the setup, providing a cohesive and visually appealing layout. The design allows for smooth traffic flow and minimizes clutter, creating a welcoming environment for customers.
Unconventional Aesthetics
Upon entering the salon, customers are greeted by a striking visual juxtaposition—a monolithic arrangement of wooden pieces resembling an archaeological site, juxtaposed with the sleek functionality of the color stands.
